18 March 2017 – Dead Sea & Dead Sea Scrolls

Today was incredible!  We woke up bright and early to see the sunrise over Jordan, just across the Dead Sea from the Kibutz Eid Gedi where we are staying.  The Southern part of Israel is beautiful – as it is almost all desert with absolutely stunning landscapes.  Our first stop was the famous fortress of Masada (Belonging to King Herod), after which we continued on to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve where we learned about the story between Saul & King David. To hear such biblical stories in the places where they actually happened is quite an incredible experience I must say!  Then we continued on to our afternoon visit to the West Bank (Palestine) where we visited the site of the Dead Sea Scrolls and had the opportunity to take the infamous “Dead Sea Spa” complete with Mud, Sand, and Salt direct from the floor of the Dead Sea.
