I’ve never been somewhere that made me feel so fragile yet at the same time so ALIVE… the massive whales swimming next to you, the penguin colonies, the dramatic cliffs of sheer ice 😳 I’m counting down the days until I return again…

I have thousands of photos from this trip, so choosing just 10 for this carousel was nearly impossible - personally I think I saved the best (and cutest) for last… agree or disagree?! 🤣

Suddenly this month is already over… the highlight Suddenly this month is already over… the highlights were escaping the snowy Utah weather for “warmer” Arizona, lots of hikes & long walks, hot tubs & hot springs, and buying a new truck (last slide)! If you are in Sedona — definitely check out these hikes 👇🏽

Devils bridge (3.9 mi) , bell rock (.8 mi), and cathedral rock (1.2 mi) are all great hikes too I just didn’t have room to add photos of them here, but DO add them to your list!

*REMEMBER* anytime you hike outdoors please be responsible, do not litter, and bring a small trash bag with you so you can clean up any trash on the trail as you hike. With more and more people heading outdoors this year we have to be extra aware of keeping our nature clean and beautiful.
We found these hot pots right off the road driving We found these hot pots right off the road driving down the canyon… UTAH IS AMAZING! 🤩

My family came into town this past week, so we enjoyed all things UTAH - hot springs, ski slopes, delicious restaurants, top golf, visiting the temple, and LOTS of truck shopping (our old ‘99 has seen better days)…

So grateful to have spent some of the winter months here in utah before we head to arizona this week for the 2023 opening of @wander.camp Grand Canyon!

note: If you visit any hotsprings please remember to leave them better than you found them (it makes me sad when people just leave trash & bottles out)… I always bring a trash bag and clean up before I soak.
Ouch 😳 Ouch 😳

What an inspirational morning kicking off the Utah All Star Weekend with a @chvrchcycle class hosted by none other than the legend herself, @lisaleslie.

She graciously gifted us all pieces from her new couture cycling line @jelenew_official and was kind enough to hang around for hours chatting about the struggles she faced in life and how they helped her become the strongest version of herself. 💪

The goal of this event was to raise $10k for @womenworldut and we are so close… Head to @chvrchcycle to learn more about how you can participate in future rides & charity events!

Here’s how to do it safely!👇🏽 1) Watch the weathe Here’s how to do it safely!👇🏽

1) Watch the weather. You need at least 7 days of sub freezing temperatures (day and night) for the ice to freeze thick enough to safely skate on… The best time to skate is at sunrise first thing in the morning before the sun warms the ice!

2) Make sure the ice is as least 4 inches thick before you skate. Use a drill and a tape measure to check ice thickness, and make sure to test it in multiple locations.

3) Never go out on the ice alone, always go with a buddy. Ideally this should be someone who has experience on wild ice and knows what to do in an emergency situation.

4) Bring the right gear. Carry a drybag with a extra pair of dry clothes and inflate it with lots of air - this will act as a flotation device if an emergency situation happens. Also bring your typical winter hiking essentials like micro-spikes, plenty of layers, whistle, and first aid kit.

p.s. I am a beginner like MAJOR BEGINNER ice skater but I went with a friend who has LOTS of experience running across Utah lake in the winter, so we followed all the safety protocols and it was sooooo AMAZING!!

Be safe & have fun exploring Utah’s beautiful outdoors this winter! ❄️
this is why i love utah… ❤️ 📍 Utah Lake | we wai this is why i love utah… ❤️

📍 Utah Lake | we waited for WEEKS until the days and nights were cold long enough to give us 3-4 solid inches of ice to skate on…

this was my first time out on open (wild) ice so I was a little TERRIFIED but feel so confident now after the experience, I can’t wait to go again!

who else thinks Utah is the most beautiful place on the planet?!

I plan to spend as much time in the mountains as I can, hang with friends and family, & catch up on all the reading & writing I’ve missed the past while…

AND for all Andrew fans out there — he is down south overseeing our INSANE reno project that I’ve shared a bit of on here (it should be done any day now). He’s pretty much a professional plumber, electrician, and house builder by now… and we are both excited for the project to FINALLY be done! 😰
